Financial Analysis Training & Glossary TermsDefined Term – Restricted funds: Funds or donations that are required to be spent or used for a specific purpose are termed as restricted funds. If the funds are spent for something else than was planned, those donations would have to be returned back. For example, a gift fund made out to a University might only be used for the purpose of sponsoring research students.
